Getting everyone together for a watch party or viewing party is a great social activity! Here is a list of some ideas to help make your event a great success.
Something to watch the game on
- First choice – Projector + Screen — Nothing says “stadium” like a giant image of the game you can see from anywhere.
- Large TVs (65″+) — Great secondary screens if your space is long or multi-room or a first choice if you can’t have a projector.
- Sound System or PA Speakers — Bring the game to life!
Something to sit on
- Chairs — You want people watching, not hanging out at the snack table.
- Inflatable Sofas or Bean Bags — Casual comfort for the die-hard fans who just want to stay in one place.
- Ottomans & Side Tables — For your guests drinks, snacks, and celebratory goal confetti.
Remember the Party Basics
- Portable Bars or Kegerators — Tap into beer greatness
- Coolers + Ice Bins — For beers, pop and water. Remember those who are non alcoholic drinkers!
- Snacks and maybe even a meal — From chips, dips and charcuterie board to chicken wings, chili and other party type food! Don’t forget vegetarians and vegans! You’ll need tables to display all the food on.
Add some Decorations
- Team Colours, Banners & Flags — Decorate for each watch party using the colours of the teams that are playing. Buy paper plates and cups of the team colours! You might also be able to get table covers in team colours. Hang their country flags !
- Lighting — Another way to add to your décor is through wall lighting. Match colors to the teams playing by renting “LED uplights”
- Photo Booth + Props — Create a photobooth either by renting one or have a friend setup a camera with a backdrop of some sort. Provide foam fingers and other items you can use to cheer with such as pom poms or horns
If your event is outside, Plan for Outdoor Weather Options
- Outdoor Tent or Canopy — Tents provide both rain cover and shade cover!
- Patio Heaters or Firepits — If your party is in the evening will it be chilly
- Outdoor Speakers — When you are outside you may need to crank up the volume a little. Make sure you invite the neighbours!
Some Fun Extras
- Draft Boards or Pools — Who’s predicting goals?
- Mini Games — Some examples are: cornhole, axe throw, high tower, bocce, four-in-a-row, lawn darts, washer toss. Make it a longer event that includes some yard games and the game on TV
Rowe Events has many of these items available for rent to make your watch party a hit!
